*** If for some reason a class is cancelled you will be notified & your payment will be refunded in full. If you cancel your reservation less than 7 days before the class your fee will be forfeited.

Beginner
: for new knitters
Easy:
Can cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease & bind off
Intermediate:
Have completed a project. Can read a pattern, is proficient & at ease with knitting including picking up dropped stitches.
Experienced:
Comfortable with many advanced techniques and stitches.

 
Rectangle Shawl ~ with Amy

Beautiful yarn overs and diagonal stitches accentuate this easy wrap.

Materials: Rectangle Shawl pattern by Blue Sky Alpacas, 1022 yds. of dk weight yarn, size 5 circular needles 24” – 32”, or size 5 14” straights

Swirly Cap ~ with Sinde

Level=Easy

Saturday, May 10, 10:00 am - noon and Thursday, May 15, 5:00 pm – 6:00pm

This is such an interesting little knit project! By increasing & decreasing on opposite ends.. you seam it together in such a way that it twists to form a beautiful swirly pattern. This hat is especially pretty in a varigated yarn.
A baby/toddler size will be made in class, but by simply increasing the numbers or yarn size you can easily make this for a adult.
Materials: 1 skein Koigu or similar yarn, #3 needles (16” circulars or short straight needles), tapestry needle.
Sample is on display.

Felted Textured Clutch~ with Amy

Level = Easy

Thursdays,  June 12 & 19, 5:00 – 6:30 pm

This is one of the cutest purses with cables!  Come in the shop and see the sample starting in mid-May.

Materials: 220 yds. worsted weight wool (not superwash), size 10 ½ needles, cable needle, tapestry needle, 1” button, about 18” satin ribbon (1/8” wide), sewing needle and thread

Wash Me Fishy ~ with Sinde

Saturday, June 21, 10:00 am - noon

Sinde designed this adorable striped “Fishy Wash Mitten” for her granddaughter to use in the bathtub. She made several for her in bright striped colors. Fishy mitts can be made for anyone from kid to adult. They could even be a special dust cloth or used to wash the dishes. They are just too cute!
Materials: Suggested yarn: 50 yd. Classic Elite’s Cotton Classic, (or similar 100% cotton yarn) in two colors for stripe.
Sample on display in store.

Fake it til You Make it Wrap! ~ with Shelly

Level=Easy

Saturday, June 21 and June 28, 10:00 am – noon

Gain confidence in making a project without a pattern.  We will design this wrap for your body custom fitting it as we go!  Choose a thick cotton yarn for a project you can wear on a cool summer evening or a bulky wool for a crisp autumn day.

Materials: approximately 400 yds bulky yarn(Shelly made hers with Patagonia Nature Cotton), needle size will be large and will be decided upon at the beginning of class.

Needle Felting ~ with Amy

Level = Easy (No knitting required)

Let your creativity flow with limitless design possibilities using roving and a special felting needle.  Bring a previously felted piece to the next level by embellishing it with a needle-felted design of your creation. Learn the basics of another fiber art that will last a lifetime.

Materials:  Felting needles, roving in your choice of colors and your felted project.

Fee:  $40.00  Receive a 25% class discount if you took the Felted Clutch class.

 

The Enchanted Moebius ~ with Amy ~ It’s back by popular demand.

Level = Intermediate

Tuesday, June 24, 5:00 – 7:00 pm

Come learn the magic of the moebius concept while creating a lacy shoulder wrap.  The simple half twist moebius will appear before you realize how it happened.  Join in on our enchanted journey to the world of moebius knitting.

Sizing: 38” (42”, 46”, 50”) circumference; Gauge:  4 ½  stitches/inch

Materials:  Cotton Classic 3 (3,4,4) skeins, size 7(or size to get gauge) circular 47” – 60” length, tapestry needle and stitch markers

Beginning Knitting ~ with Sinde ~ SESSION #1

Level = Beginner

You will learn a very good Cast On method, Knit stitch, Purl stitch and how to Bind off. We'll spend time learning how to read the information on your yarn label & why this information is so important. This class is great for both a new knitter or to get you back on track again. The main focus of this class is "Technique"-- making your future knitting experience much more enjoyable!

Materials: 50 yds. of a light, solid  colored worsted weight yarn, (either wool or acrylic NOT cotton or cotton blends) and #8 or #9 straight needles.

Fee: $25

 

Beginning Knitting ~ with Sinde ~ SESSION #2

Level = Beginner  (you must take Session #1 in order to take #2)

You will continue your skills by learning how to pick up a dropped stitch and how to Increase & Decrease stitches. As time permits this class continues to expand your knitting knowledge with important information to help you become an "independent knitter"--such as how to form patterns using your learned stitches, various yarn weights & what they mean, how to measure your gauge & how to control gauges that are either too loose or too tight. (You may want to bring a snack/lunch if you are staying for Session #2)

Materials: Same as Session #1, and #H crochet hook & a stitch gauge.

Fee: $45 for both Session #1 & #2
